Purchase and installation of a battery bank and related equipment on the Pidula fish farm property. The project has been funded by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU recovery fund
Tulipunane OÜ’s resilience and security of electricity supply are ensured by an autonomous power system on the Pidula fish farm property in Saaremaa.
Stage 1. The company’s Pidula fish farm property often experiences power outages that disrupt daily work and cause economic damage. The battery bank system of approx. 200 kW secures the company’s energy supply and provides power even during a general outage, preventing damage. It also allows renewable energy to be used when there is no sun and contributes to reducing energy consumption from fossil sources. This is especially important in remote areas, where securing the electricity supply is always more difficult.
In 2025 the company’s energy supply is secured and power outages no longer cause damage.
The 200 kW battery bank purchased in Stage 2 makes it possible to heat 10 electrically heated holiday houses for at least 72 hours during a power outage in the cold winter period.
In addition, the energy storage system reduces the company’s annual need to draw power from the grid at night or when there is little sun, and allows it to take part in the electricity frequency market when needed, contributing to a stable and secure electricity supply.
