Purchase and installation of a battery bank and related equipment on the Pidula fish farming property
The project has been funded by the European Union from the NextGenerationEU recovery instrument.

Tulipunane OÜ's survival and security of electricity supply are ensured by the existence of an autonomous electricity system on the Pidula Kalakasvatuse property in Saaremaa.
Stage 1. The Pidula Fish Farm property owned by the company often experiences power outages, which hinder daily work, including causing economic damage. The battery bank system of approximately 200 kW ensures the company's energy supply security and provides energy even during a general power outage, preventing damage and also allows the use of renewable energy when there is no sun and makes its own contribution to reducing energy consumption from fossil sources. This is especially important in remote areas, where ensuring the security of electricity supply is always difficult.
In 2025, the company's energy supply security will be guaranteed and no damage will occur from power outages.
The 400 kW battery bank purchased as part of Stage 2 will enable 10 electrically heated holiday homes to be heated for at least 72 hours during a power outage during the cold winter period, meaning that this amounts to approximately 13 kW of consumption per 24 hours per holiday home.
In addition, the presence of an energy storage device allows the company to reduce its annual need to consume energy from the electricity grid during periods of low sunlight or at night and, if necessary, allows it to participate in the electricity frequency market opening on February 8, 2025, contributing to a stable security of electricity supply.
